UltraMean2
Instructions For Use
-
Always test for colorfastness by first applying UltraMean2 powder solution to an unseen area, rinse with water and then allow to dry before evaluating surface.
-
Do not use wool, silk leather, or anything that is not water tolerant/washable.
-
Keep away from face when mixing solution. Always add UltraMean2 to water, not water to powder to prevent foaming and spilling.
-
Keep UltraMean2 container closed and in a cool dry location . Once mixed, solution should not be left in a sealed container. The solution will give off oxygen and the container may enlarge and leak.
Crawlspaces, Basements and Attics
1. MIX
Add 4 or more capfuls of UltraMean2 to 1 gallon of clean water (warm to hot for best results). Mix until completely dissolved. Foaming is normal.
5. ULTRABAN
Once dry, apply UltraBan PRO or UltraBan Professional Use Concentrate.
Use UltraMean2 to clean any visible mold or areas that are excessively dirty.
2. APPLY
Apply solution to dirty areas with sponge, scrub brush or sprayer. Some scrubbing might be necessary for stubborn stains.
STORAGE
UltraMean2 Solution will remain active up to 3 hours. Discard remaining solution. DO NOT store in a sealed container.
3. SOAK
Allow time for solution to work. Let it sit for a few minutes, but don’t allow to dry.
CLEAN UP
Thoroughly clean equipment, tools and containers with soap and water.
4. RINSE
Rinse or wipe the dirty solution off surface. If not wiped clean it will dry “dirty”. Harmless soda ash may appear when dry. This is normal if not completely rinsed and will not affect UltraBan.
TIPS
If spraying, use a paint strainer to prevent clogging. UltraMean2 may be applied to a dry or damp surface.
Water Damage Cleanup & Mildew Removal
To remove mold and mildew prior to painting or to clean up water damage, mix a soaking solution (1-3 capfuls). Apply to the surface, and scrub with a brush or sponge. Let stand 20-30 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Basement Floors or mildew removal
For mildew removal or to clean basement floors after water damage from flooding, add 1 capful to a gallon of hot water, scrub onto surface, wait 30 minutes, then rinse.
Acoustic Tiles
For acoustic tiles, add 1 1/2 capfuls per gallon of hot water, spray on tiles, wait 15 minutes, then rinse.
For mops, add 1 capful to a gallon of hot water, soak overnight, then rinse.
Composite Deck Cleaning Guide
Guidelines
Always test cleaner on a small area first
Cleaner works well in most conditions, however DIRECT sunlight with temperatures between 65 -85°F is best for decks because solution and surface stay warm during the active cleaning process
Caution should be given as surface may become very slippery
1 gallon of mixed solution will cover approximately 200 sq. ft. depending on the surface condition of materials being cleaned
Do not mix UltraMean2 with any other chemicals or cleaners as hazardous fumes may result.
Equipment Needed
Garden Pump Sprayer
Hose
Bucket
Mixing Stick or drill mixer
Broom
Soft Bristle Scrub Brush
Sponge Mop (optional)
Mixing Instructions
Wear appropriate skin and eye protection.
Add approximately 1 gallon of warm water to your bucket.
Add 2-8 capfuls of UltraMean2. Amount will depend on how heavily soiled the surface is. Test a small area first to determine the power needed to clean.
Mix until all the UltraMean2 powder crystals have been dissolved.
Pour into pump sprayer. Consider using a paint strainer when pouring to prevent possible clogging
Cleaning
Remove all items from the deck area to be cleaned.
To protect plants or to avoid damage to adjacent surfaces, pre-wet and/or cover these areas that you do not intend to clean or that the cleaner may run onto.
Sweep composite surface and hose with water to remove heavy dirt and debris.
Remove debris from between deck boards to allow for proper drainage.
Apply heavy, even coat of UltraMean2. (A pump sprayer offers the best results and most uniform and economical application)
Clean one section at a time (about 100 sq. ft.)
Allow solution to “soak” on the composite surface for 10-45 minutes. Keep area wet with reapplications of UltraMean2 as needed.
Scrub surface with soft bristled brush.
Rinse surface completely. Do not allow dirty surface coated with UltraMean2 to dry.
Repeat application process until desired level of cleanliness and stain removal has been achieved.
For extremely tough stains, apply a fresh application of the solution and immediately sprinkle DRY UltraMean2 powder directly onto the surface, scrub with a brush every few minutes for 15 minutes keeping the surface damp with UltraMean2 solution. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Apply UltraBan Mold Barrier according to label directions to protect the cleaned surface and extend the life of the clean.
Stain Issues with composite decking, plastics and vinyl materials
Most forms of plastics are derived from petroleum products that are subject to decay and permanent staining from the decomposition process.
Wood Decks, Fencing, Siding, Concrete and Stucco
Step 1:
Mix a general cleaning solution (1-3 capfuls of UltraMean2 in 1 gallon of warm to hot water).
Step 2:
Apply with a clean lawn sprayer.
or
Apply with broom or brush.
Step 3:
Let stand for 10-30 minutes, scrubbing as necessary and rinse thoroughly.
Roof Cleaning and Stain Removal
Cleaning roofs is a dangerous operation. Extreme care should be used. (We recommend a professional perform this work.) They should use the following guidelines.
Best performed on an overcast or cool day! Mix solution to medium duty cleaning (2-5 capfuls of UltraMean2 in 1 gallon of warm or hot water).
Apply with a pump sprayer to saturation.
Allow to stand for 20-30 minutes, rinse thoroughly with a pressure washer no closer than 20 inches to the surface with less than 2000 psi.
Wash entire sections at a time (even if it looks clean).
Yard
For deodorizing garbage cans, add 1/2 capful per gallon of water and let soak.
For lawn furniture, add 1/2 capful to a quart of hot water, scrub; wait 15 minutes, then rinse.
